E cigarettes (electronic cigarettes) were launched commercially in China in 2004. They were invented in 2003 by a Chinese pharmacist known as Hon Lik. Since their invention, these cigarettes have continued to gain popularity in many parts of the world.
An e cigarette looks like a traditional cigarette. However, it is an electronic device that basically consists of an atomiser/cartomiser, battery, and a nicotine solution known as e-liquid (e-juice). The atomiser/cartomiser is a vaporization chamber that holds the e-liquid. The work of the battery is to heat the atomiser. When the atomiser is heated, the e-juice is turned into vapour. When the smoker (vaper) inhales, there is a red LED on the tip that lights up. He then exhales a cloud of vapour that looks like smoke. This cloud of smoke disappears within a few seconds.
